Lexie Straehan
Passion for DanceFouetté Academy of Dance

Born in Waterloo, Ontario, Lexie began her dance training at the age of three and continued with recreational and competitive dance training until the age of seventeen, training at Contemporary School of Dance, Bojangles Dance Arts and Canadian Dance Company. Upon graduation of high school she continued her education and dance training at Ryerson University where she completed her BFA in Theatre Performance Dance in 2015. She has since gone on to complete her Masters in Dance at York University in 2016.

Known for her skills in Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, Modern and Hip Hop, Lexie is also a teacher and choreographer for both recreational and competitive dancers and for industry shows and corporate events. She is currently teaching at Fouette Academy, Canadian Dance Company and J’Danse Studio and works with students ages four to eighteen both in class and private lesson settings.

Lexie has been teaching for almost ten years and although she has had many other jobs, teaching has remained her favourite over the years. She is so fortunate to be able to do what she loves and get to form dance bonds with all of her students who share the same passion as she does.
